The first week of my ten week challenge certainly turned out to be a frustrating one. After one spin class, this "spell" (as one of my friends calls them) has been particularly bad . The most frustrating thing about these "spells" isn't that I have them (although that is high on the list), but that I don't know what causes them or how to "treat" them so-to-speak. I know how to manage them. I know Motrin takes away the pain and fevers. But I don't know if it is safe to...say...go to the gym when I am having one. Obviously, if I am in pain or running a fever then no. But when I am on Motrin and feel fine...
Needless to say I have taken the rest and recuperate approach, which is probably for the best. It does wear my body down. And although I feel fine when I am on Motrin, I am still on Motrin, therefore I am obviously not fine. Not to mention how tired my body feels when I am going through this.
Hence the radio silence. Not much to report after a weekend of no work-outs. I could tell you about the various movies hubby and I watched over the weekend - I would highly recommend Easy A and How to Train Your Dragon but steer clear of The A-Team. I did manage to stay fairly on-track with eating healthy (and obviously drinking has not been an issue). I thought today may be the day to get back to the gym, but then I had to pop two Motrin. The pain has lessened and, for now, the fevers are gone. So I assume I am at the end of this "spell." I am going to go for a walk after work today - at least that will get me moving around a bit.
Nothing exciting for dinners tonight - just salad. But I will begin to post my food log again tomorrow (stuffed peppers for dinner tomorrow!). Hopefully by this time next week I will be back in tip-top shape and heading to spin class next Tuesday!
