This includes eating more locally produced food; cooking culinary delights at home; and living life to it's fullest.

Tuna steaks with mashed potatoes

The other night the weather was warm (as it almost always is this time of year in Texas) and I felt like we should make something special on the grill. I got us some tuna steaks, which, in my opinion, is one of the best and easiest fish to grill. I sprinkled the tuna steaks with some garlic powder and freshly ground black pepper.

I cut up some red bell pepper and zucchini (from our Farmhouse box) and marinaded it in olive oil, vinegar and spices (garlic and freshly ground black pepper).

We threw the tuna steaks and veggies on the grill. The veggies cooked on the top rack and the tuna steaks were quick. Just a few minutes on each side.

I also whipped up some mashed potatoes (again, from our Farmhouse box). I boiled some cubed and peeled potatoes, melted some butter and mashed the potatoes and butter together (mmm...butter...). I spiced it up with some garlic and freshly ground black pepper (there seems to be a theme here).

This dinner was fast, easy and delicious. You could certainly pair numerous sides with tuna steak and season the steak with whatever your preference. Tuna is such a delightful fish. It holds up marvelously on the grill and is extremely gratifying grilled. I will definitely make something similar to this again, although with the high price it will have to be for special occasions (or moments when hubby and I want to do something a bit out of the norm).
