One girl - one goal: to live a healthier life.

This includes eating more locally produced food; cooking culinary delights at home; and living life to it's fullest.

A quick snack

I stole the idea for this recipe from one of my favorite wine bars in Austin - Simplicity. They serve a bruchetta that is Bacon, Round Rock Honey and Pickled Garden Hot Peppers.  This was super-easy to put together. I brushed some baguette slices with olive oil and toasted them in the oven.

While the bread was toasting I cooked up two pieces of bacon and chopped pepperocinis and roasted red bell peppers (which I bought in a jar). I crumbled the cooked bacon and mixed it in with the peppers. I loaded it ontop of the toasted baguettes and drizzled honey over the top.

This was really easy to pull together and a nice switch-up on traditional bruchetta. A yummy, quick snack for a warm weekend day!
