One girl - one goal: to live a healthier life.

This includes eating more locally produced food; cooking culinary delights at home; and living life to it's fullest.

Healthy living does not have to be boring and tasteless...

"Cooking is like love - it should be entered into with abandon, or not at all."

Saturday!

This post is going to be shorter than usual because I have to run and make pizza crusts for our girls night in! I am making gluten-free pizza crust for the first time, as well as my regular pizza crusts for the gluten eating gals. There will be a lot of red wine, laughter and making fun of the new Flowers in the Attic movie that premiers on Lifetime tonight. I am looking forward to it!! Needless to say, Mr. X will be escaping the house for the evening!

I went to the farmer's market and the butcher today. It is part of my New Year's resolution to eat more local and less processed. If you live in Austin and haven't checked out Salt and Time, you should. They are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. At the farmer's market I picked up some great kale, and I bought fresh bacon at the butcher - I am planning on making a garlicky kale bacon pizza tonight!

Last night I picked up soup and salad for me and Mr. X for dinner. I was extremely disappointed in the lack of gluten-free soup choices at Central Market, I only found one option that I am 90% sure was gluten free...but I did my best.

Alright! Time for my pizza making experiment! I will post all about it tomorrow!
